Another form of corruption??

The ICC World Cup is on and for most in India Cricket is like a religion and we have all really looked forward to this tournament. It is surprising for me as a fan to notice how many of the matches in India are going to near empty stadiums which is hard to believe given how crazy we are about our Cricket. I was extremely excited about catching some of the games in Mumbai and was definitely going to make it to the Finals however I was in for a very rude awakening when Ratnakar Shetty, the World Cup's tournament director revealed to the media that the association is limited to offering only 4000 tickets for the final to the general public because it is contractually obligated to offer tickets to the ICC (8500), as well as its member clubs (roughly 20,000)!!!! WTF??? If this was the deal from the very beginning why hold the finals in such a ground??? When will people in higher positions truly begin to care about the layman and not just themselves and those immediately connected to them. The 'haan yaar apna toh set ho gaya hai' attitude is becoming a little tiring and it is high time we as people begin to take responsibility and boot such assholes out of power who think only of person gain. Be it politicians or be it popularity in sport, it is we as the people that bring these people the attention they are getting-maybe its time we boycott these entities and show them their place...
As off now it looks like I shall be viewing the ICC World Cup from the confines of my home....how sad is that...
